E-ZBORROW? UBORROW? A Little Confused?

E-ZBORROW is a direct borrowing program initiated by the Pennsylvania Academic Library Consortium, Inc. (PALCI) that allows CUP students, faculty, and staff to simultaneously search the online catalogs of forty-six (46) university libraries and request books that are currently not available or not owned by Manderino Library. The fourteen (14) Keystone Library Network libraries that comprise the UBORROW program are also participating members of the E-ZBORROW program.

To locate and request a book go to
www.library.cup.edu, click on E-ZBORROW, log in using your CalCard number and start your search. Items are usually shipped within four to six days and notification is sent by e-mail when the books are available for pick up at the Circulation Desk in Manderino Library.

Faculty has an additional benefit of borrowing in person on site. To take advantage of this opportunity you must present a signed authorization form and a valid CalCard. Authorization forms can be obtained at the Circulation or Reference Desk in the Manderino Library.

UBORROW is a direct borrowing program initiated by the fourteen (14) academic libraries belonging to the Keystone Library Network that allows CUP students, faculty and staff to borrow books online or, in person on site.

To locate and request a book online go to
www.library.cup.edu, click on PILOT, click the Simultaneous Search/UBORROW button and start your search. Books are usually shipped within three to five days, and notification will be sent when the books are available for pick up at the Circulation Desk in Manderino Library. The status of a request can be viewed by logging on to PILOT and clicking the My Account button.

To borrow books in person on site, you must present a valid CalCard. Borrowed books may be returned to the home or lending library.

Both programs allow one online renewal. Circulation policies and lists of participating libraries for both borrowing programs can be found at the library’s web site. If you have a question or are experiencing a problem using either program, please send an e-mail to Sabo@cup.edu.
