Manderino Library Book Club--November Selection

"He looked at her [Mma Ramotswe] in the darkness, at this woman who was everything to him--mother, Africa, wisdom, understanding, good things to eat, pumpkins, chicken, the smell of sweet cattle breath, the white sky across the endless, endless bush, and the giraffe that cried, giving its tears for women to daub on their baskets; O Botswana, my country, my place. Those were his thoughts. But how could he say any of that to her? Any time he tried to tell her what was in his heart, the words which came to him seemed so inadequate." Alexander McCall Smith's The No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency, p. 234.

The next meeting of the Manderino Library Book Club will be on Tuesday, November 15, 2005. The afternoon group will meet in library classroom #208 from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m., and the evening group will meet in the Curriculum Collection area from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Marsha Nolf, Public Services Coordinator, will be the discussion leader for both groups. We will be discussing Alexander McCall Smith's The No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency.
