You can learn a lot more about RSS from this Wikipedia article on RSS To use RSS feeds, you first need an RSS feed reader. Following are brief directions for using Microsoft Outlook 2007 as your feed reader. RefWorks, the Library's bibliographic management program, also offers a feed reader feature.

How can I put an RSS feed into Outlook?
· First, click on the Mail icon on the lower left hand side to make sure you bring up the
"Mail Folders" on the left side of Outlook.
· Then, navigate down to RSS Feeds.

· It will bring up this window:

· Type or paste into this box the feed URL you want (see below). For example, I want all new books from Computer Science beginning with the Library of Congress classification letters, QA. So I type in this URL: http://library.bloomu.edu/cgi-bin/cupdbnewrss.cgi?QA and click "Add".
· Repeat to add more feeds.

Then, to see what new books the Library has, click on the RSS Feeds folder in your Outlook mailbox and select the New Books subfolder. A list of new books by title (with links into our catalog, PILOT) will appear in your mailbox.
