Gallery of Fine Arts Exhibit, September 22 - October 26

Scenery of Pacific Reflection: Recent Art of Li Xiaoheng

The public is invited to the Gallery of Fine Arts on the 3rd floor of Cal U's Manderino Library to view the recent paintings of Chinese artist, Li Xiaoheng. The award-winning artist was born in China in 1956 to a family experiencing challenging economic times. As a child on his grandparents’ farm in China, Xiaoheng had to make his first drawings of animals, stars and clouds in the dusty soil using a twig. The beauty of nature from his childhood served him well as inspiration for when he finally was able to trade twigs for brushes, paint and paper.

Li Xiaoheng will be speaking in the Gallery of Fine Arts, Tuesday Sept. 27, from 11:00 a.m. until noon.

The public is also invited to attend the Opening Reception, Thursday Sept. 22, 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.

Gallery Hours are limited, so please check them before coming.
