Free Access to New York TimesSelect!

The New York Times recently announced that students, faculty, and others associated with a university, and whose email address ends with .edu, can subscribe--for free!--to TimesSelect.

TimesSelect provides "access to 22 columnists of The Times and the International Herald Tribune as well as an array of other services, including access to The Times's archives, advance previews of various sections and tools for tracking and storing news and information."

To sign up for a free TimesSelect subscription, go to www.nytimes.com/university. Note: Although the registration process appears limited to only students or faculty, the library has confirmed with the New York Times that staff, administrators, and others associated with the university are eligible to sign up. Simply register as if you were "faculty." For more information about this free program, see FAQ about TimesSelect University.

Although TimesSelect content was already available to Cal U patrons through LexisNexis Academic, you had to do a complicated search to find it. With your free subscription to TimesSelect, you can have the content automatically emailed to you, and then easily access the articles directly from the message.
