Why and what to read from NPR

Two stories from National Public Radio reaffirmed my love of books: the first story talked about how intensive reading in childhood can actually change the physical nature of the brain. Children with low reading levels were put into a intensive reading program, and after the program, parts of their brains had changed. According to the story "training changed 'not just their reading ability, but the tissues in their brain,' ...the integrity of their white matter improved." Listen to the whole story at NPR:
